La Republique

Three hours early. Nobody in line to check-in. Got my choice of seats, three all to myself near the back. Breezed thorugh security. Looked up at the departures screen and smiled at Paris, then bar hopped. Started reading James Frey's 'My Friend Leonard' (that dude can write). Called the Indian to say goodbye then sat on the floor at Gate 138. Watched as French children wrestled unsupervised while French adults completely disregarded any form of a line-up. Boarded. Sat. Watched. Listened. Ate. Drank. Thought. Read. Slept.

A taxi, a plane, a shuttle, a train, a bus and fourteen hours later I arrive in Grenoble. It's warm and sunny. I kiss the Kat... and France came back.
