Concrete Fever

Two new decks arrived this morning from way out west, both Skull Skates, both long boards, both with that classic black and white paint job. One called ‘Surfrider’, a flat cruiser, a little shorter, a little narrower and much stiffer than his Sector 9. The other called ‘Cascade’, a sub-compact ripper with a classic directional shape, mellow concave and 19 inch wheelbase. He ordered them on-line and felt like a kid at Christmas opening up that cardboard box full of kicks, that cardboard box full of stoke, carefully cutting the tape and then ripping away the rest. A nice little bit of retail therapy. A nice little bit of distraction. Two nice little additions to his quiver.

They are perfect.
