Almost France

The Kat and I got my dad a fifty-dollar gift certificate at the Cheese Boutique for Christmas and today we went and cashed in. Couldn't very well bring cheese home in our packs after six-and-a-half weeks on the open road so it was the next best thing. Pops ended up dropping seventy-plus choners on top-notch dairy - Tomme de Savoie and winter Beaufort and ash-goat from Quebec and Ontario Cheddar and a twenty-one dollar Rocquefort and this crazy delicious triple cream from Bourgogne called Le Delice, all on fresh baguette and washed down with a lovely robust red. So very very civilized for a Friday afternoon. Made me think of that time up in Meaudre with Jules and Delph and Franck and Odile where we drank that wonderful bottle of Swiss red and ate like fucking champions. Nice to know that stuff sticks with you. I miss you guys.
