Dark and Light

Yesterday sucked. I woke up tired and a little hungover and just had that feeling. The day dragged and I didn't quite know what to do with myself. I went for a hike but that didn't really help, then our shower backed up with dirty dishwasher compliments of our neighbours. I called my stupid landlord, we'll call her 'Bitchler', who for whatever reason decided to answer her phone while on the slopes. Who does that? Needless to say she didn't wanna have anything to do with me. I pleaded our case in my best French, then got fed up with her Frenchy French rude bureaucratic bullshit attitude and just started screaming at her. She didn't like that. I got no writing done and played no guitar and went to bed fragile and homesick... then managed to convince myself I didn't even have a home to be sick about.

But wait? I live in the French Alps and there are mountains outside our windows for crying out loud. And today the sun is shining and I'm listening to Wilco and The Red Hot Chili Peppers and drinking fine Earl Grey tea... and La Chatte has switched to her wonderful Spring/Summer wardrobe... and we're heading to London on Friday for 3 days... and to Lyon on May 24 to see Broken Social Scene... and to Toulouse for 2 weeks in June to see my family... and to Amsterdam with my brother... and then home to see you all... and...

Yin and Yang. Good and Bad. Dark and Light. Day and Night. Yesterday and Today. Today and Tomorrow.

Vive Life!
(And Gator, thanks for the inspiration)
