Many Moods
Yesterday he cranked out Tricky Woo, got all Age of Electric and Cult Electric, then took a long trip down Grunge Memory Lane, dancing and thrashing around the apartment out of his head destroying shit - everything but the sacred sound gear. Some days he’s just gotta rock the fuck out. Sometimes he’s gotta get it all out. Bang his head before that creeping mental health drives him mad.
Today it is smoothy smooth stoner grooves, selected tracks from Queens of the Stone Age, Sonic Youth, Smashing Pumpkins, a little dubby House, H-Foundation, shit like that. It’s a slow steady relaxing ride that frees the mind and let's it wander to the cool places. Hit the couch or the stack of EV’s, burn one on his back and put that irritating annoying darkness on the back burner.
Tomorrow it could be all House. Spin the black circles, back and forth and back and forth on the old one’s and two’s. Feeling nothing but the next track, the mix, the highs and the mids and the lows. Where to go next? Take it down? Bring it up? Deeper? Harder? Bumpier? Funkier? Chunkier? Throw in some vocals? Mixing keeps the mind occupied.
